🌱 Plant: Monstera ‘Lemon Pom Pom’ Variegated 🧪 Type: Tissue Culture (TC) 🍃 Growth: Climbing aroid 📏 Size: Young TC plantlet
Care
💡 Light: Provide bright, indirect light or gentle filtered sunlight. A quality grow light works exceptionally well. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun, especially while the plant is young.
💧 Water: Keep the growing medium lightly and evenly moist while the plant is establishing. Once established, allow the top portion of the mix to dry slightly before watering again. Always provide good drainage.
🌱 Soil: After acclimation, pot into a loose, chunky aroid mix. A combination of orchid bark, perlite, coco coir, and sphagnum moss works well.
🌡️ Temperature: Keep warm, ideally around 65–85°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F.
💨 Humidity: Moderate to high humidity is beneficial, especially during acclimation. Good airflow is important to prevent stagnant, overly wet conditions.
🌿 Fertilizer: Wait until the plant has fully acclimated and is actively growing before fertilizing. Once established, use a balanced fertilizer at a diluted strength.
TC Acclimation
TC plants are grown in extremely controlled, humid laboratory conditions. When they arrive, they need time to adjust to normal growing conditions.
Gradually acclimate your plant to lower humidity and stronger light. Avoid immediately removing it from its protected environment and placing it in intense light.
Some temporary leaf yellowing, loss of older foliage, or slowed growth can happen during acclimation and is not necessarily a sign that the plant is unhealthy.
Important Notes
Variegation is naturally variable, so each plant can develop its own unique pattern and amount of variegation. New leaves may change in coloration and pattern as the plant matures.
TC plants are young and delicate. Give your plant time to establish before repotting, fertilizing, or making significant changes to its growing conditions.
