Monstera White Lava TC
Monstera White Lava TC
Make room for one of the most eye-catching variegated Monsteras around! Monstera ‘White Lava’ is known for its dramatic white and green variegation, with each leaf developing its own unique pattern. As the plant matures, it can develop larger foliage and increasingly impressive fenestrations.
This listing is for a tissue-culture (TC) plantlet, giving you the opportunity to grow this highly collectible Monstera from a young plant.
🌱 Plant: Monstera ‘White Lava’ 🧪 Type: Tissue Culture (TC) 🍃 Growth: Climbing aroid 📏 Size: Young TC plantlet
Care
💡 Light: Provide bright, indirect light. A strong grow light or bright filtered sunlight will help support healthy growth and maintain good variegation. Avoid intense afternoon sun on young leaves.
💧 Water: Allow the growing medium to dry slightly between waterings. Water thoroughly once needed, then allow excess water to drain. Avoid keeping the roots constantly soggy.
🌱 Soil: Once established, transfer to a chunky, well-draining aroid mix. A combination of orchid bark, perlite, coco coir, and/or sphagnum moss works well.
🌡️ Temperature: Keep warm, ideally around 65–85°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below approximately 55°F.
💨 Humidity: Moderate to high humidity is beneficial, particularly while the plant is young. Good airflow is equally important.
🌿 Fertilizer: Once the TC plant has acclimated and is actively growing, use a balanced fertilizer at a diluted strength. Avoid fertilizing immediately after receiving the plant while it is still adjusting.
TC Acclimation
Tissue-culture plants are grown in a controlled, high-humidity environment, so they need time to adjust to normal household or greenhouse conditions. Gradually reduce humidity and increase light exposure rather than moving the plant directly into its permanent environment.
Some leaf yellowing, loss of older leaves, or temporary growth slowdown can occur during acclimation.
Important Notes
Variegation is naturally variable. The amount and pattern of white on each plant can differ, and new leaves may develop different patterns as the plant grows. Highly variegated leaves may also grow more slowly than predominantly green leaves.
TC plants are young and delicate when shipped. Allow your plant to establish before repotting or making major changes to its environment.
Photos represent the general appearance of the cultivar and are not necessarily the exact plant you will receive.
