Nepenthes ampullaria 'White Jade' TC

Nepenthes ampullaria ‘White Jade’ TC

Bring home the unique beauty of Nepenthes ampullaria ‘White Jade’, a striking tropical pitcher plant known for its distinctive low-growing pitchers and beautiful pale coloration. Unlike many Nepenthes, N. ampullaria is known for producing clusters of pitchers around the base of the plant, creating an especially impressive display as it matures.

This tissue-culture (TC) plantlet gives collectors the opportunity to grow this unusual Nepenthes from a young plant and watch it develop its characteristic pitchers over time.

🌱 Plant: Nepenthes ampullaria ‘White Jade’ 🧪 Type: Tissue Culture (TC) 🍃 Growth: Tropical carnivorous pitcher plant 📏 Size: Young TC plantlet

Care

💡 Light: Provide bright, indirect light to several hours of gentle direct sunlight. A grow light works extremely well indoors. Good lighting will encourage stronger growth and better pitcher development.

💧 Water: Use distilled, RO, or rainwater whenever possible. Keep the growing medium consistently moist but not waterlogged. Nepenthes generally do not need to sit in a tray of water.

🌱 Soil: Use a loose, airy, nutrient-free carnivorous plant mix. Long-fiber sphagnum with perlite, orchid bark, or another chunky aeration material works well. Do not use regular potting soil or fertilizer-rich mixes.

🌡️ Temperature: Nepenthes ampullaria is a warm-growing species. Keep it warm and protect it from cold temperatures. Consistently warm conditions generally produce the best growth.

💨 Humidity: Moderate to high humidity is preferred, especially while establishing a young plant. Good airflow is important to prevent stagnant, overly wet conditions.

🍽️ Feeding: The pitchers naturally catch insects and provide nutrients to the plant. No fertilizer is required. If grown indoors, an occasional small insect can be offered once the plant has established.

🪴 TC Acclimation: TC plants have been grown in a high-humidity laboratory environment and need time to adjust to normal growing conditions. Gradually acclimate the plant to lower humidity and stronger light rather than moving it immediately into harsh conditions.

Important Notes

TC plants are young and delicate. Do not expect mature pitchers immediately after arrival. The plant may temporarily lose pitchers or experience some leaf changes while it acclimates to its new environment.

Once established, Nepenthes ampullaria ‘White Jade’ can become a spectacular collector’s plant, producing increasingly impressive clusters of pitchers as it matures.

Please note: Variegation, coloration, pitcher development, and growth rate can vary between individual plants. Photos represent the general appearance of the cultivar and are not necessarily the exact plant you will receive.
